Man hospitalized with serious injuries after large fight in downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — A man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a large fight broke out in downtown Phoenix Friday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 12th Avenue and Madison Street for reports of a large fight involving multiple people around 3:56 p.m.

When police arrived at the scene, they found an adult man with serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said one person was detained.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and security guards as well as collected evidence.

The investigation into what led to the downtown Phoenix fight is ongoing. Any charges related to the incident are pending its conclusion.
