PHOENIX — A man was placed in custody at Glendale’s State Farm Stadium on Friday, the site of Charlie Kirk’s memorial on Sunday, for impersonating an officer and bringing a gun into a prohibited area, according to an ABC15 report.
The Glendale Police Department entered an investigation with the U.S. Secret Service, which is at the stadium in preparation for President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance’s arrival.
ABC15 said it isn’t “immediately clear when police encountered the man,” who claimed to be a law enforcement officer.
Fox News reported that the man was armed with both a gun and knife and had been inside the stadium before being detained.
“The individual was approached by Secret Service and stated during the encounter that he was a member of law enforcement and that he was armed,” U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi told Fox News. “The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody.”
Police said they expect about 100,000 people to attend Kirk’s memorial on Sunday, which starts at 11 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing. No other information was revealed at this time.

Do you really think that the thinly veiled threat by the FCC to take away ABC's license if they didn't do something had nothing to do with their decision? MAGA think, "It's just a coincidence" 🙄
If Kimmel is such a loss financially, why is he in talks to get his show back on the air? 🤔
You can keep putting your right wing spin on it all you want, but no one is buying what you, Trump and MAGA are shoveling. 💩
LOL, sure they are, then someone says something they get butt hurt about and they suddenly forget that people with different opinions have the same rights as they do.
Many of you are piss poor examples of good Americans. You don't give a damn about this country, if you did, you'd be mad as heII about Trump and his authoritarian methods and his child like outbursts because someone said something he didn't like, or his constant lies and accusations without any evidence.
You know he's solved inflation, brought prices down, made more jobs, got gas to 1.99 a gallon and reduced prescription prices by 1500%. If you believe all that, you're ignorant, if don't believe don't believe all that but defend him anyway, then you're just plain stupid.
Turns out the risk of losing your broadcast license is a way bigger financial loss than any poorly rated performer.
This was perpetrated and manipulated by your government and their threats, and you're OK with that. You're no American nor a patriot.
