PHOENIX – The main route from Maricopa to metro Phoenix was blocked for several hours Tuesday after a multivehicle collision, authorities said.

Northbound State Route 347 reopened after 1 p.m., nearly four hours after it was closed near Casa Blanca Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said three vehicles were involved in the injury collision.

An Econoline van caused the chain-reaction crash, DPS said.

Three people were hurt, including a driver whose injuries were serious but not life-threatening. The other two patients had minor injuries.

ADOT posted a photo from just before 9 a.m. showing at least two ambulances at the scene.
