Tempe TRiP web tool makes transportation, parking easier
A new web app called Tempe TRiP gives travelers information about transportation, routes and parking in the East Valley city.

PHOENIX — A new web app that gives Tempe travelers information about transportation, routes and parking has been released.
Tempe TRiP is an all-in-one app that provides real-time parking availability, transportation routes, the fastest routes and parking rates.
The tool is the brainchild of Downtown Tempe Authority and the city of Tempe. No downloads are required to use it on one’s cellphone or computer.
How will Tempe TRiP impact East Valley traffic?
The purpose of the tool is to help people navigate traffic in the East Valley suburb as easily as possible, according to Downtown Tempe Authority CEO Lori Foster.
“Downtown Tempe is a dynamic hub for education, business, entertainment and tourism and the steady activity is a blessing for merchants and local businesses,” Foster said in a press release. “We also recognize that, at times, getting around and finding parking can present challenges.”
Tempe TRiP gives users an all-in-one place to learn about road closures and traffic, pay for parking, find parking spots closer to their desired destination and more.
“We are committed to finding innovative solutions to make it easier to park, get around, support our downtown businesses and fully enjoy all the events and attractions our downtown has to offer,” Foster said.
Officials rolled out the new traffic tool ahead of Tempe welcoming 50,000 visitors for Arizona State University’s commencement activities.
