US 60 Hassayampa Rest Area near Wickenburg to close for renovations

PHOENIX — The Hassayampa Rest Area on the US 60 highway east of Wickenburg will close beginning Monday for renovations, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced on Thursday.
The renovations, which will cost $500,000, are expected to be completed in the summer.
Part of the necessary work at the rest area six miles away from Wickenburg, in addition to replacing bathroom fixtures, includes ensuring the area is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The building will get new paint and its parking lot will be restriped as well.
All parking and public access to the restrooms will be restricted for the duration of the renovations, according to the release.
