PHOENIX – President Donald Trump will make his first appearance in the Phoenix area this week since October 2018.

Here’s everything you need to know about Wednesday’s campaign rally at Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum at the state fairgrounds in Phoenix:

When: The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 3 p.m.

Tickets: Nobody will be admitted without a ticket, which can be procured by registering online on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parking: Two lots will open at 6 a.m. Wednesday, the main fair lot on 19th Avenue north of McDowell Road and on the southwest corner of 19th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.

Because there may be more cars than spaces, use of public transportation or ride sharing is recommended.

Cars can enter the fairgrounds lot only from Encanto Boulevard east of 19th Avenue or from 19th Avenue at Monte Vista Road.

Traffic: Encanto Boulevard will be closed between 17th and 19th avenues. Traffic is expected to be heavy on 19th Avenue and Grand Avenue throughout the day.

Additionally, roads will be closed between the airport and the fairgrounds for the president’s motorcade.

Security: The Arizona Department of Public Safety will lead local safety efforts in partnership with the Secret Service, the Phoenix police and fire departments, and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Free speech zone: The north side of Encanto between 19th and 17th avenues has been designated for citizens to voice their opinions.

Prohibited items: No weapons, drugs or alcohol are allowed on the property. Glass bottles, laser pointers and selfie sticks are also prohibited.

No outside food or drink is permitted at the fairgrounds, but guests can bring one 20-ounce factory-sealed bottle of water or an empty refillable container.

Signs are allowed, but they can’t have handles.

Weather: Wednesday’s forecast calls for clear skies with a high temperature of 79. Attendees should dress accordingly and expect large crowds and long lines.

We want to hear from you.
