PHOENIX — Law enforcement officials in a Phoenix suburb Friday arrested a man suspected of an attempted kidnapping.
Police in Chandler said the man was taken into custody at an apartment complex.
The man had been accused last month of approaching a boy who was playing at a community park near Warner Road and Arizona Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on April 26. He asked to hold boy’s hand.
Police said the suspect then grabbed the boy’s hand, before the child pulled away from the suspect, telling the man “no.”
The suspect then allegedly grabbed the boy’s wrist and started to walk away with him before someone from the boy’s family intercepted them.
Neither the boy nor the family member who stopped the suspect were identified by police.
