Mark Grace. (Mug shot/Scottsdale Police Department)

Arizona Diamondbacks broadcaster Mark Grace was arrested for a DUI on Thursday night and he could be looking at an extended stay in prison.

After consulting with a Valley attorney, KTAR has learned that if Grace is convicted of his second DUI within the past seven years, that he would be sentenced to a mandatory 90 days in jail, 60 of which could be suspended if he attends alcohol classes.

If Grace is convicted of an aggravated DUI, a felony, he would get prison time, though it is unclear how long he would be sentenced to, as the time given is dependent on numerous variables. The average sentence in these cases is 2.5 years.

When police made contact, they determined that Grace was driving without his interlock device, which is a Class 4 felony. A conviction of driving without the required interlock carries a prison sentence of one year to 3.75 years, followed by probation.

Talk about not thinking straight ~
Here's a man who has had a wonderful life - born with natural athletic prowess, good looks, wonderful personality, great kids, traded from the Cubs in time to be part of that fabulous 2001 Diamondbacks World Series with the Yankees - and then manages to get into a mess like this - such a shame for everyone involved. The only good thing was that no one was injured or killed. Let's hope he has whatever it takes to turn himself around.

    LOCK EM UP
Second time no interlock device. It says second time in past 7 years. When was the first time in the last 7 years. If my memory serves me correct it was less than a year ago!! These people are no better than anybody else. Lock him up for the 3.5 years and let em dry out. The average Joe goes for the long haul let him go too. Get these "BOOZERS" in the tank and keep AZ safe. Thank You

    Hmmmmmmmmm .....HOW COME
How come he's not on Sheriff Joes Mugshots under the DUI category? He needs to be posted amongst Arizona's finest just like the other regular Joe's. Why the omission? Somebody find out and let the public know what's u with that.

    To Err is Human
And Mark Grace is human, capable of the same mistakes that many other people make. There are a lot of people in Phoenix casting stones at this man right now, but a lot of these same people have committed the same crime Grace has and simply haven't been caught. I'm not saying don't prosecute (because Drunk Driving is both stupid and dangerous) but be careful, because by the standard that you are judged, you will also be judged.

    Humanly flawed
greatbison nailed it. The area is grey and thin for those who get locked up for simply screwing up verses those who are unconformable. Mark deserves equal punishment and when he has paid that debt, he deserves to live his life judged by his successes including that of beating addiction.

Just like the rest of us
Mr. Grace is just like the rest of us, except he was given so many opportunities. Now he needs to pay the time like the rest of us. The fact that he disconnected his interlock, means he truly needs to go through the system for support, just like the rest of us. Send him through the countless hours of court appointed counseling, lock him up in tent city or in 4th Ave. and give him time to "think about: what he has done with his life! I think his "star status" pushed him through the last DUI without having to truly pay for his crimes! No special treatment!

    Amazing
Here's a guy that could call a cab & not think twice about it, yet he gets in the car & drives I don't want Grace to be given special treatment but then again, he deserves what he gets. From a broadcast standpoint, now the booth is going to be like attending a funeral. The last 2 month are going to be awful. Schulte is a radio guy & Gonzo is just like listening to a neighbor. Sutt needs to get back ASAP. I know Sutt was supposedly suspended for dress code but I've heard it was for the same thing; he has trouble with the consumption of alcohol. This might explain their odd behavior at times.

    Drinking & Driving
The argument if you drink you do not drive, but when you have money like this guy you hire a driver to take you home. Or you invite the bar to your house for drinks and bbq, etc.
