Study: Watching TV can improve children’s schoolwork

According to the Daily Mail, a study found that children who spend hours watching TV outperform their peers who don’t spend as much time in front of a screen.

But the Daily Mail says that the study, published in the journal “Sociology” found that despite the many hours of television, other factors are also at play.

‘Social class and in particular parents’ education were the dominant factors’ in determining how well children fared.

The study, led by University of London’s Institute of Education senior academic Dr. Alice Sullivan tested 11,000 British children.
