According to UPI, researchers have noticed a dip in happiness between age 40 and 42 in most people.

“What is interesting is the consistency of the results in all of the three countries we examined,” (Dr. Terence) Cheng said. “Human happiness hits the lowest point around the ages of 40 to 42.”

Cheng compared the happiness level to a “U-shape,” which he said was interesting because he said happiness levels tend to go back to their original levels following the midlife crisis.
