Nello, goodbye: Popular Phoenix-area pizza place closing location after 33 years

PHOENIX — After 33 years serving the Valley, Nello’s Pizza in Tempe will be closing its doors.

According to their Facebook page, the Tempe pizza joint has been sold to the Happy Joe’s Pizza Family and will close its doors this Friday.

Their farewell post has received almost 100 shares and plenty of customer comments reminiscing about their favorite Nello’s memories.

Many locals have commented about getting their first job at the pizza place, family parties and hanging out there after school

Luckily for long-time patrons, the Mesa and Ahwatukee locations are expected to remain open.
