PHOENIX — The Arizona Republican Party is not yet ready to officially part ways with Sen. John McCain, the state’s senior senator who is up for reelection this year.
On Saturday, the Arizona GOP rejected a resolution that would throw its support behind anyone else who ran against McCain. A consultant said the resolution may be illegal, in that it may be out of bounds for party leaders to dictate who members endorse.
However, individual party members can legally endorse whomever they would like, provided they are not coerced into giving their official support.
Despite the party sticking by him for now, McCain said, with the fluctuating political climate and wavering support for the establishment, he knows he will have to work hard to win his upcoming election.
“I have always believed that anyone who takes an election for granted is not smart,” he said. “I have worked hard, I will continue to work hard and campaign hard.”
McCain said he is “confident of victory” in his Senate race, but is aware that anything can happen in the arena of politics.

Why? He is totally out of touch and useless. Most absent Senator, most ineffective statesman. Sure, in the late 80's, early 90's, he was at least somewhat energetic. By the way, I am referring to 1980s, not 80's in terms of his age.
WE NEED TERM LIMITS! PERIOD!
Time for that open border RINO to go !
Our country needed a strong leader like J.D. Hayworth in the senate. Instead of a true conservative, we got stuck with a progressive RINO again. We can't afford to elect McCain again. He prides himself on being "The Maverick" who constantly sides with Democrats. If he would campaign as the progressive he actually is, he knows he couldn't get elected. So instead, he pretends to be a conservative during each campaign. Then as soon as he has spent enough money airing attack ads against his primary opponent, Republicans feel they have to vote for him in the general election. Once "his seat" (like Ted Kennedy) is secured for another 6 years, he immediately begins stabbing his constituents in the back.
I can no longer vote for McCain EVER. Not even in the general election, which I have felt I had to do in the past just so that a Democrat wouldn't get the senate seat. I would rather not vote for McCain and risk a Democrat going to Washington in his place than to send him back, understanding full well the damage that this man is capable of doing while making deals and giving interviews, using his (nominal) position as a GOP senator. The MSM recognizes who he is... that is why they love him so much. But his constituents don't love him, and I for one am totally fed up with being betrayed by him.
