Efforts underway to recover body from Tempe Town Lake

Fire crews were working to recover a body from Tempe Town Lake on Monday morning, authorities said.

First responders received reports of a person in the lake around 1 a.m., according to the Tempe Police Department.

Witnesses told officials the person went under near the Rural Road bridge.

Search efforts were conducted by both officers and firefighters before the rescue was transitioned into a recovery operation.
