PHOENIX — Fans of Filipino cuisine in the East Valley have something new to look forward to next year: Arizona’s first Seafood City supermarket.
The Filipino market will add some international flair to Chandler Fashion Center near Chandler Boulevard and Price Road in 2025.
The 65,000-square-foot building will bring Filipino groceries, rare fruits and vegetables, meats and kitchen items. It will also have a health and beauty section.
What’s there to eat at Seafood City Filipino supermarket?
Bakers Avenue, a small bakery inside the market, will sell breads, biscuits, pastries and cakes baked daily. It will also offer Filipino specialties such as pandesal, ensaymada and biscocho.
Additionally, many in-store restaurant options will sell various types of Asian street foods.
One of them is the Crab Market, which sells crustaceans and shellfish. It’s a new concept from Seafood City, which is well-known for its Grill City restaurant that sells Filipino-style pork and chicken barbeque, stuffed squid, adobo and more.
Executive Vice President of Seafood City Elewin Rebaya said the new supermarket will be a culinary haven for foodies in the East Valley.
“We’re ecstatic to present an unparalleled selection of Filipino and pan-Asian ingredients and fast-food dishes,” Rebaya said in a Tuesday news release. “From traditional spices and sauces to savory delights like adobo and lechon kawali, as well as sweet treats like halo-halo and ensaymada, we’re here to fulfill every craving.”
In addition to selling foods and home items, the Chandler Seafood City will also have a 2,035-square-foot community rooms that locals can reserve for meetings, birthdays and other events.
“Expect Seafood City to become the ultimate destination for food enthusiasts all over Arizona,” Rebaya said.
