PHOENIX – Southwest Gas recently announced that customers in Arizona will get some relief on their bills starting next month.
Effective Oct. 1, Southwest Gas is resetting a fee known as the Gas Cost Balancing Account rate from $0.30911 per therm to zero.
The change will save the average residential customer about $7 per month, the utility company said in a Friday announcement.
Southwest Gas provides natural gas to connected homes across parts of western, central and southeastern Arizona, including the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas.
According to a WalletHub analysis released in July, Arizona has the second-lowest energy costs in the nation.
“This bill decrease edges us even closer to having the lowest energy costs in the country,” Arizona Corporation Commissioner Nick Myers said in a press release Tuesday.
