Authorities give update on Bravo Fire threatening homes west of Flagstaff

PHOENIX — Authorities announced an update on Saturday morning to residents near the Bravo Fire west of Flagstaff.
The update indicated that it is now safe to downgrade all zones that were placed on SET status earlier this week.
It read: “Effective immediately, the neighborhoods that were put in ‘SET,’ which are Zones 104 (Saskan Ranch), 105 (A-1 Ranch), 106 (Bellemont North), 107 (Village Camp), 108 (Bellemont South) and Naval Observatory area, will be downgraded to ‘READY’ status.”
How big is Bravo Fire burning west of Flagstaff?
The fire was estimated to stretch across approximately 960 acres as of 7 p.m. on Friday, authorities said.
Campers near the fire, which is burning about 10 miles west of Flagstaff near Bellemont, were being told to avoid the area.
“Smoke impact has diminished significantly during the day, but smoke may settle into low-lying areas surrounding the fire overnight as temperatures drop,” authorities said in a press release.
Among the equipment and manpower on scene to assist are 196 firefighters, four Hotshot crews, six engines, two hand crews, three dozers, one water tender and multiple aerial resources including four helicopters and air attack.
There are no immediate threats to assets, personnel, or critical infrastructure as of Friday, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
