PHOENIX — A teenager who has been accused of firing shots at a student and officer in Tempe on Arizona State University’s campus in December was indicted, authorities said.
Reid Ralph Chee, 17, faces charges which include aggravated assault, endangerment, disorderly conduct and unlawful discharge of a firearm, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said in a press release.
The shooting took place Dec. 1 around 1:30 a.m. near the Barrett Honors College near Apache Boulevard and Rural Road.
Less than five minutes after police responded to the scene, an officer reported shots fired.
“The victims in this case feared for their life while simply going about their way on the campus of ASU,” Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said in the release.
“Using a gun to intimidate or harm anyone in this community is a serious charge and those who are accused of doing so will be held accountable.”
