PHOENIX – An argument outside a concert in Glendale escalated to a shooting that left one man hospitalized Tuesday night, authorities said.

The Glendale Police Department said the suspect left the Westgate Entertainment District after the shooting around 11 p.m. and hasn’t been found.

Police said the 33-year-old man who was shot was treated for injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

Witnesses told officers that the victim had come from a show at Diamond Desert Arena and was on the east side of Westgate when he bumped into another man.

An argument followed, police said, and the suspect left, but returned a short while later and shot the other man.

Initially, officers working the event were told shots had been fired inside the arena. That turned out not to be true, police said.

No other information was made available.

The investigation is ongoing.
