No closures scheduled on metro Phoenix freeways for second consecutive weekend

PHOENIX — Metro Phoenix drivers won’t have to worry about closures on freeways for a second straight weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said there won’t be any scheduled restrictions Friday through Sunday on the Valley’s seven major freeways.
Motorists in the West Valley and East Valley could contend with some disruptions for construction work, but they will be minor.

In Buckeye, Watson Road will be closed beneath Interstate 10 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. for a freeway widening project.
Also, the U.S. 60 intersection at Mountainbrook Drive in the Gold Canyon area will be restricted — no left turns allowed — from 9 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday for traffic signal maintenance.
