Inaugural Zona Music Festival bringing slew of top indie acts to downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX – Downtown Phoenix will be transformed into indie pop/rock heaven later this year when the inaugural Zona Music Festival takes over Margaret T. Hance Park for two days.

Beach House, Portugal. The Man, Bleachers, Tegan and Sara, and Japanese Breakfast have top billing for the Dec. 3-4 event.

General admission and VIP weekend passes go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. The event’s website doesn’t mention prices. Single-day tickets will offered at a later date.

The sprawling lineup has 39 acts and includes local mainstays such as Playboy Manbaby and Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra.

“We are beyond thrilled to be among this incredible lineup and return to one of our favorite cities in the United States,” Tegan and Sara said in a press release.

“It’s been a long three years, and we are very much looking forward to getting on stage and strutting our stuff at Zona in December!”

The Zona Music Festival is a partnership between local promoter Psyko Steve Presents and Downtown Phoenix Inc.
