PHOENIX — The Strand Urban Italian in downtown Phoenix is closing its doors for good on Thursday after a decade of business.

The restaurant, located at the corner of Jefferson and First streets as part of CityScape, will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on its final day of operation.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant said it is vacating the premises due to “our landlords unwillingness to work with us.”

“As a small business we have worked hard to have a place for our customers to visit and most importantly our staff to make a living,” according to the Facebook post. “We had hoped this was enough, but unfortunately big corporations don’t appreciate this.

“We appreciate all your support throughout the last 10 years and remember to please keep supporting small business when you can.”

The restaurant served up urban Italian food with a full bar, various pastas, pizzas, sandwhichs, seasonal salads and more.
