Collision at Phoenix intersection leaves 2 in critical condition

PHOENIX — Two people were hospitalized in critical condition after a head on collision Sunday evening in Phoenix, authorities said.
Phoenix police responded to reports that two vehicles collided near 59th Avenue and Indian School Road around 8:30 p.m.
Fire personnel had to manually pull out two people from one of the cars, police said, while two passengers in the other vehicle were able to exit their vehicle on their own.
The passengers pulled out, a man and woman both in their 30’s, were transported to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
A passenger of the other vehicle, a man in his early 30’s, went to the hospital in stable condition.
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
No other information was immediately available.
