Bicycle rider seriously injured after collision in Glendale traffic

PHOENIX – A bicycle rider was seriously injured Friday in a collision with a vehicle in Glendale.
The Glendale Police Department shut down Grand Avenue (U.S. 60) in both directions near 67th and Northern avenues for the investigation of the 9 a.m. crash.
The eastbound lanes of Grand Avenue reopened at around 1 p.m., and westbound traffic was cleared by 1:30 p.m.
Police said they were told the cyclist rode in front of a vehicle and was hit. The rider was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene, they said.
