Pedestrian dies after being struck by impaired driver in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Phoenix on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 2:06 p.m. near 43rd Avenue and Butler Drive, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Authorities responded to the call and pronounced the pedestrian dead on scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
It is believed that impairment — in addition to speed — was a contributing factor in the collision, officials said.
Phoenix police said that the driver will be booked for charges related to the incident.
