PHOENIX – Three businesses were damaged by a fire of unknown origin at a central Phoenix strip mall Monday morning, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to reports of flames at Washouse Laundry, on the east side 16th Street just south of Thomas Road, around 6:30 a.m., according to a Phoenix Fire Department press release.
Crews encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from multiple stores in the strip mall.
They contained the flames to three businesses: Washouse Laundry, K-Fashion and Metro PCS.
The blaze was extinguished before it could spread to any of the eight other adjoining store fronts.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
