PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo is bringing back its popular drive-thru event for the summer months.

Cruise the Zoo will return June 6 and take over the zoo from 7 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until Aug. 10.

The zoo will be closed to foot traffic during those days, Phoenix Zoo officials said Monday in a press release.

Tickets for the experience are on sale and go for $50 a vehicle for zoo members and $65 per vehicle for the general public.

Tickets and other amenities must be purchased in advance.

The zoo has been open to people for walking since September, but the drive-thru event was brought back because of demand after last year’s success.

The guided, educational audio tour of the grounds were introduced in May 2020 as a way for patrons to enjoy the zoo during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A list of rules is available on the event website.

We want to hear from you.
