PHOENIX — A new 13-story Marriott hotel opened Friday in downtown Phoenix, promising guests a modern, sleek environment.

AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Phoenix is located in the Arizona Center between Van Buren and fifth streets.

The 199-room property features a penthouse fitness center, outdoor patio with water features and fireplaces, and nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space.

The lobby also has a lounge offering tapas, cocktails and a Spanish wine experience using a porron, according to a press release.

“Vibrant art, sophisticated furnishings, and state-of-the-art technology – that’s what the AC brand represents and we’ve brought together all these qualities plus much more to create an elegant, modern travel experience in an urban environment,” Jeff LaPour, president of LaPour Partners, said in the release.

The hotel is walkable distance from nearby venues such as the Phoenix Convention Center, the State Capital, Phoenix Suns Arena and Chase Field.
