PHOENIX — We need passports to get into other countries. Now, a Valley company offers a “coronavirus passport” to get us into places that require vaccinations.
Bob Ramsey started developing the Confirm-D app before the pandemic because “for people to return to life practices, they’re going to eventually have a ‘passport’ where you will be able to see your vaccines.”
He explained people could show them at private businesses and airports, especially before trips to Hawaii, which requires recent negative tests for COVID-19.
Developer Bill Corn says users download the app and upload their vaccination and testing records.
“You’re going to either flash them with the Q-R code, or – if you’re coming into a restaurant or a golf course, you can show them that way as well,” Corn said.
Some Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport businesses, as well as Silverado Golf Club of Scottsdale, are asking employees to get the Confirm-D COVID-19 passport app.
“So we can assure the public that, not only are we testing our associates, but we’re able to determine the results very quickly,” Corn said.
Medical providers verify the vaccination information is accurate.
“You can take these records wherever you’re going with your iPhone,” Ramsey said.
