A man died Tuesday from injuries he sustained after being hit by a car in south Phoenix last week, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased man as 38-year-old Peter Griffin.
On Aug. 12, officers were called to Seventh Avenue and Baseline Road around 8 p.m. for multiple reports of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Griffin with life-threatening injuries. He was transported by the Phoenix Fire Department to a nearby hospital, where he died a week later.
The driver remained at the scene.
Preliminary information indicated that Griffin was crossing Baseline Road mid-block, outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by the car.
Authorities said impairment is not believed to be a factor.
