PHOENIX – Police in Phoenix arrested a suspect in a months-old fatal shooting, they said.

Damien Sandoval, 34, was booked on murder charges Friday, police said. He is accused in the June killing of Shawn Reilley, 35.

Sandoval was taken into custody near 18th Avenue and Bell Road.

Police said officers had found Reilley in a parking lot near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road after responding to a call about a shooting.

Reilley was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation remained ongoing, Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said in an email.
