PHOENIX — Central Avenue at Interstate 17, just south of downtown Phoenix, will be closed for three nights as crews continue work on the south half of the interstate bridge.

The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that southbound Central Avenue at I-17 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday to 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Drivers can use Buckeye Road to Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street as alternatives. Local traffic will be able to access Central only between Buckeye Road and the I-17 frontage road.

Beginning Tuesday and ending Thursday morning, both northbound and southbound Central Avenue at I-17 will be closed each night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Traffic can detour at Buckeye and Broadway roads to Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street.

ADOT says I-17 traffic will not be affected.
