2 injured in suspected road rage shooting at Westgate in Glendale

PHOENIX – Two people were injured in a shooting at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale on Tuesday, authorities said.
Officers were called to the area near Westgate around 4:30p.m for reports of an altercation in the parking lot, according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Tiffany Ngalula.
Authorities said a 21-year-old male was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot, which left the area. The man began to fire rounds from a handgun, police said.
A 32-year-old man, who was not part of the original accident, was in his vehicle when he saw the 21-year-old firing his gun. Police said the 32-year-old started to shoot his gun at the other man.
Both men were shot in the incident.
They were taken to the hospital after the incident, according to police.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the 32-year-old has been released while the 21-year-old continues to recover in the hospital.
Glendale police believe it was an isolated incident.
The names of the two men were not released.
The investigation is ongoing.
