Phoenix police investigating after body found near Washington Park

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating after a man’s body was found Saturday morning in the area of 23rd Avenue and Ocotillo Road near Washington Park.

Police say there were obvious signs of trauma. The fire department pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Nestor Magana.

Authorities are working to determine what led to the Magana’s death. Additional details have not been released.

A homicide investigation is ongoing.
