PHOENIX — Arizona Snowbowl has announced plans to open in November for the winter season with new coronavirus protocols in place.

Snowbowl will open its ski season Nov. 20 with altered operations because of the ongoing pandemic.

“In the many ups and downs of this unique time, one thing has remained constant: your support,” Rob Linde, Snowbowl’s general manager, said in a blog post Tuesday.

“It has been and will continue to be critical to our shared success as we open this mountain for skiing and snowboarding and do our part to keep everyone healthy and safe.”

Restrictions will be similar to most outdoor recreation areas and were implemented over the summer, according to Linde.

Face coverings will be required and access to indoor spaces such as restaurants and restrooms will be limited.

Lifts and lift lines will also only be available to ride with family or traveling companions.

Linde added that Snowbowl could limit access on expected busy weekends and holidays to avoid overcrowding.

If that occurs, the mountain would be opened on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Also, all purchases are expected to be available online on Snowbowl’s website.

Snowbowl is offering its season pass for $199 through Oct. 9.

“The unique challenges over the last five months have tested our resiliency…but they haven’t dampened our spirits,” Linde said.

We want to hear from you.
