Shooting in Chandler leaves 1 dead and 1 in critical condition

PHOENIX — One person was pronounced dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting in a neighborhood by the intersection of Rural Road and Chandler Boulevard.

Police only identified the victims as a 47-year-old and a 22-year-old. Police said the 47-year-old was declared dead at the hospital.

Police hope to interview the 22-year-old victim later today.

Chandler police are asking for information from anyone who may have been in the area around 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspect may have been wearing dark clothing and driving a white, two-door sports car, according to police.

No other information was made immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
