PHOENIX — The White House announced Wednesday that Vice President Mike Pence will make a visit to Arizona next week.
Pence will travel to Tucson and Yuma as part of his visit, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Vice President will give remarks at a Faith in America event in Tucson before departing for Yuma.
There, Pence will meet with Gov. Doug Ducey to discuss how Arizona is attempting to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Pence’s visit will come a week after President Trump visited Yuma and the border wall before holding a rally at a north Phoenix megachurch.
Arizona has been a popular destination for the Republican leaders as the state shapes up to be a battleground one ahead of November’s election.
Trump also visited the Honeywell facility in Phoenix in May, his first trip outside the Washington area since the pandemic hit the country hard in March.
Pence visited the state three times in 2019, most recently in October for a quick trip to parts of the Valley and southern Arizona.
