PHOENIX — Canopy by Hilton will be opening its downtown Tempe location on Tuesday.

The 198-room hotel is located on the northeast side of Mill Avenue and University Drive and has approximately 5,000 square feet in meeting and event space, according to a press release.

The hotel will feature two different dining venues within its 14-story stature.

Alter Ego — the hotel’s signature restaurant — will be located on the ground floor, while Alibi — a full-service pool and bar — will be located on the roof.

Both of the hotel’s dining options will be limited during the initial opening phase, including distanced seating due to the coronavirus outbreak, as well as scaled-back menus, access and amenities.

Because Canopy Tempe falls under the Hilton umbrella, the hotel chain will also be instilling its CleanStay procedures for cleanliness and disinfection.

Bookings for overnight stays after Tuesday are now available, including a special package for locals looking for a summertime staycation.

“Bringing our vision to life has been a collaborative effort between our local design firm, local featured artists and team of longtime hospitality professionals who have created a destination that truly embraces the fabric of the neighborhood,” Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown GM Alan Klein said in the release.

“We hope to become a vibrant gathering space that embodies the innovation present in the exciting evolution of downtown Tempe.”

We want to hear from you.
