PHOENIX — During Sunday’s Democratic debate, a female law professor from Chandler got her chance to ask Sen. Bernie Sanders how his policies would impact her life.
Described by one of CNN’s moderators as an “undecided” Democratic voter, Amy Langefeld asked Sanders how his administration would go about implementing the best policies regarding womens’ physical and financial health.
Sanders began his response by telling Langefeld that his presidential team would reflect the country as a whole.
“My cabinet, my administration will look like America. Last I heard, over half of the people in America are women, and that will be the representation in my cabinet…”
Sanders continued by touting his pro-choice voting record, criticizing the income inequality between men and women in the U.S. and calling for the government to assume a larger role regarding childcare.
“We need to have universal, affordable, high-quality childcare so women who are single or married can go off to work and know that their kids are going to be well taken care of.”
