PHOENIX — A Tempe-based restaurant and brewery is expanding to the East Valley next year.
Pedal Haus plans to open a location in Chandler in mid-February, founder Julian Wright told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email.
A grand opening event will be held March 7, when customers will receive one raffle ticket for every $10 spent for a chance to win a Pedal Haus-branded bicycle. Half of the proceeds from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. that day will be donated to Chandler Compadres.
The new location will be downtown near Arizona Avenue and Boston Street in the home of Las Palmas Cantina, which is closing at the end of the year.
Wright said the Chandler location will have a mostly similar food, beer and cocktail menu as the one in Tempe.
The main difference is the new location won’t serve pizzas but will have brunch available on the weekends. There also won’t be brewing at the Chandler location, according to Wright.
Pedal Haus will offer 10 of its own beers in Chandler, including the limited release Salted Nut Brown Ale. All proceeds from the beer will be donated to a local charity.
Wright said they plan to remodel the 3,000-square-foot indoor space and the 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio before the opening.
The brewery’s Tempe location, its first, opened about four years ago.
