He was taken to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the Goodyear Police Department.

The Goodyear Police Department said the accident occurred around 4 p.m. outside Western Sky Middle School near 144th Avenue and Indian School Road. The boy was a student at the school.

The bus had students inside when the boy was hit, police said.
