PHOENIX – Police said a man has died after his truck crashed into a Phoenix restaurant Wednesday night.
Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said in an email Thursday no one else was injured in the 9:30 p.m. wreck near Interstate 17 and Dunlap Avenue, across from Metrocenter Mall.
First Watch was closed at the time of the accident. The breakfast-lunch restaurant chain is open from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
First responders from the fire department treated the man at the scene.
Authorities said based on the lack of trauma to the man’s body and the estimated speed of the collision, he may have suffered a medical episode right before the collision.
No other details were available.
