PHOENIX — Chandler firefighters are looking for volunteers to help install free smoke alarms later this month.

On Oct. 26, the group will walk the Chandler Manor Neighborhoods near Alma School and Knox Roads from 9 a.m. to noon and set up the alarms.

Volunteers do not need any experience and can serve as either an installer or a recordkeeper.

The Community Smoke Alarm Installation program also operates in Tempe and Mesa.

Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up online. Anyone with questions was asked to call the Arizona Burn Foundation at 602-230-2041, ext. 104.
