PHOENIX — The Coolidge Police Department evacuated the Landmark Ranch subdivision in response to a chemical fire in a nearby industrial plant.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the vents of the plant as more than 20 emergency vehicles, including nearly a dozen firetrucks were sent to put out the blaze.
The Coolidge Adult Center was being used for evacuees and bus transportation was also made available, according to the Coolidge Police Department Facebook page.
The fire began near the corner of Industrial Drive and Kenworthy Road.
