West Valley youth basketball coach arrested on child sex charges

PHOENIX – A West Valley youth basketball coach was arrested Friday and charged with a variety of sex crimes against children, authorities said.
Holland “Mutt” Woods was booked on preliminary counts of molestation, sexual conduct with a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual abuse, sexual assault, aggravated assault, sex trafficking and kidnapping, according to a Peoria Police Department press release.
Woods, who co-owns a nonprofit youth program called Underground Basketball, was taken into custody without incident at his Peoria home at 9:45 a.m.
The case remains under investigation, and charges could be updated.
Police said four victims have come forward with allegations that Woods abused them for several years. Some were as young as 8 years old when the alleged abuse started.
