Saguaro spears windshield in Tucson car crash but driver is OK

PHOENIX – A driver in Tucson managed to avoid serious injury Wednesday after crashing into a saguaro cactus that then fell through his car windshield.
Northwest Fire District tweeted, “Miraculously, no injuries were reported.”

Tucson TV news station KOLD reported the rescue team said the unidentified driver had crossed the median near First Avenue and Agave Drive around 9:30 a.m.
He ran into the cactus, which cracked and crashed through the driver side windshield.
No other details were immediately available.
