PHOENIX — During the Fourth of July holiday, blood donations are at their lowest levels for the summer.
To keep the donations flowing, KTAR News 92.3 FM and Arizona Sports 98.7 FM are partnering with Vitalant for the Saving Arizona Blood Drive this Sunday.
The drive will be held 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tempe Center for the Arts at 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway.
The first 500 donors will receive vouchers for two Arizona Diamondbacks tickets and a free Whataburger.

One donor will be drawn as a finalist for a 2019 Volkswagen Passat Wolfsburg Edition.
“It’s just a very, very important time and we’re trying to make it fun and exciting for people to save lives this weekend,” Sue Thew, Vitalant spokeswoman, told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Monday.
Type O blood is in greatest demand, but donors with all blood types are asked to contribute.
“The July Fourth holiday week is the lowest week of the summer for blood donations, and it’s also the time when there’s the greatest potential for blood usage because of all of the traffic on roads and highways,” Thew said.
She recommended signing up for an appointment online or by calling 877-258-4825.
