A 34-year-old man is dead after allegedly being shot Tuesday afternoon at house in Phoenix during a domestic dispute, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the man who was killed as Daniel Palmer.

Officers were called to a residence near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road around 2:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting, police said.

When they arrived at the home, they found Palmer suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken by the Phoenix Fire Department to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A woman was identified as the shooter and detained by police.

Preliminary information indicated a firearm discharged during a domestic dispute between the woman and Palmer and struck him.
