PHOENIX — A 19-year-old woman who went missing from a Phoenix residence last month was found dead this week, police announced on Wednesday.

Kiera Bergman was last seen last seen at her residence near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road on Aug. 4. Her body was found near State Route 85 and Hazen Road in Buckeye around 3 p.m. on Monday.

Police did not say how she died.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office found Bergman’s body. The Phoenix Police Department is leading the homicide investigation.

No arrests have been made in connection to Bergman’s murder, as of Wednesday.

According to ABC15, Bergman’s ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Jon Clark, was being questioned in relation to Bergman’s disappearance last month when police found other peoples’ personal identifications in his vehicle.

Officers then arrested him for identity theft. He was booked into jail for 22 counts of aggravated identity theft and two counts of forgery.

Police gave no indication that this arrest connects Clark to Bergman’s homicide case.

Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sgt. Vince Lewis called the circumstances around Bergman’s disappearance “suspicious” at the time.

Anyone with information regarding a suspect in the case is encouraged to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
