PHOENIX — After seeing record-tying temperatures on Thanksgiving, Phoenix is excepted to usher in slightly cooler weather leading up to the first week of December.
But if you think that means you’ll have to start pulling out your winter clothes, you’re getting a little ahead of yourself.
According to the National Weather Service, Phoenix is expected to see temperatures in the 80s with breezy conditions on Monday before welcoming highs in the 70s for the rest of the week.
A storm system off the Pacific NW coast will move to our north Monday. For us, that means breezy conditions Monday, followed by highs in the 70s to near 80 Tuesday through the rest of the week. #azwx #cawx pic.twitter.com/2G634KaCWN

This cooler weather will be brought on by a storm system off the northwest Pacific coast, the National Weather Service said.
The storm system will kick up strong winds in the western Imperial County and Joshua Tree National Park. There is expected to be a mix of wind advisories and high wind warnings across the region.
But the cooler temperatures will be much welcomed: Phoenix tied the daily (Nov. 23) and Thanksgiving record-high temperature of 87 degrees Fahrenheit on the holiday.
The city also broke the heat record on Sunday, setting the new daily record for Nov. 26 at 89 degrees. The previous record was 88 degrees, which was marked in 1950.
And now at 334 pm, Phoenix is setting the new daily record high at 89 degrees. Do I hear 90 anyone? #azwx

In addition, the city has also not seen a significant amount of rainfall in months. The last time Phoenix recorded measurable rainfall was on Aug. 23.
