Family of 8 loses Mesa home to garage fire

PHOENIX — A family of eight lost their Mesa home to a fire early Monday morning, but everyone was able to escape harm.
Firefighting crews from Chandler, Gilbert and Tempe helped put out the blaze at a house near Dobson and Baseline roads.

Authorities said the fire started around 1 a.m. in the garage and spread to the attic.
The home remained standing but may be unsalvageable.
No other details were available.
